Takeover demo — reward system overdrive → prefrontal cortex offline → amygdala panic.
Welcome to HuntMode.
This is not a cure. This is the missing manual your brain never came with — a map of a loop that already has a name in too many gay and bi men’s nights: meth, GHB, and apps like Grindr or Sniffies locking onto the same reward circuits.
Call the collision the Perfect Storm.
The three fronts
Meth can drive dopamine far beyond ordinary rewards. Popular neuroscience summaries often put that surge in the thousand-percent range relative to baseline pleasures. Whatever the exact number, the lived effect is simple: every new profile, every tap, every “woof” can feel like a massive hit.
GHB can briefly lower fear and social friction — a short window that feels like confidence. What the map must also say: that window is followed by crash and rebound anxiety, which is when the storm starts selling itself as medicine.
Dating apps run on the same variable-ratio schedule as a slot machine. You never know when the next “yes” is coming, so the thumb keeps refreshing. The chemistry does not invent that schedule. It turns the volume up until stopping feels impossible.
Alone, each piece is risky. Together they exploit neurology where reward, belonging, threat, and sex already share wiring. This series maps the hijack so you can see the weather you are standing in — not so you can build a better storm.
The brain hijack map (Lesson 1 overview)
Stage 1 — Dopamine flood: Meth pushes the reward system into overdrive; app hits land louder. Feels like urgency, heat, “just one more.”
Stage 2 — Disinhibition window: GHB softens fear and friction for a short stretch. Feels smooth and bold — then crash and rebound anxiety.
Stage 3 — Slot loop: Variable rewards on the app lock attention. Compulsive checking, time vanishes.
Stage 4 — Cascade: Reward system overdriven → prefrontal cortex goes offline → amygdala into panic. Reckless, flat, terrified — sometimes all three.
Lesson 1 names the storm and the map. Posts 2–8 open the stages and the exit ramps without turning education into a recipe.
What this series is
- Recognition language for chemsex / app loops
- Jungian + neurobiological framing in the Wired for Ecstasy lane
- Harm reduction education
What this series is not
- Instructions for obtaining, dosing, or combining substances
- A glamorization of the hunt or the high
- Medical advice

Practice (Lesson 1)
For three days, do not try to fix the whole storm. Only name it when it appears.
When you catch the loop, write one line: HuntMode is online because _____ (meth / GHB / app / loneliness / all three).
Naming is not curing. It is the first unpaid bill the persona was hiding.
Prompt
If the Perfect Storm could speak without trying to be sexy or sorry, what would it say it is protecting you from feeling?
